Reports to: Senior Portfolio Director – US
Location:Â Downtown Los Angeles, CA –Â (Hybrid 3 days a week in office)

The Portfolio Manager (PM) is responsible for underwriting and directly managing individual loans to US Corporates.  From time to time, the PM will be assigned certain projects and other responsibilities at the direction of the Country Head and Portfolio Director. The Institutional Banking Group (IBG) provides customized solutions for every business, from large corporates and institutional clients, to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure that new credit proposals and amendments to existing loans are adequately analyzed. Ensure that the risk profile of each assigned Borrower is adequately reflected by its Risk Grade. Manage the closing of new and modified credit facilities, and presented in accordance with Bank policy. Provide ongoing financial analysis of assigned Borrowers to ensure that changes to the risk, and any required changes are made on a timely basis. Ensure that Supervision and Group Reviews and other reporting and compliance are completed profile of each Borrower is communicated to local management in a timely basis on a timely basis.
Principal Responsibility No. 1 – Underwriting
Working with RM in initial screening, including the preparation of spreads, risk grading, identification of risks, construction of the approval path, and assisting IBG Support and the RMs. Diligence the Borrower’s background, financial position, business model, industry, and in the calculation of ROEs.  A thorough review of any proposed loan structure to ensure that it appropriately protects the Banks competitive position, as well as the identification of risks and mitigants.  Preparation of concise credit memorandum that clearly communicates the lending rational, given the identified business risks. Perform appropriate review of loan documentation and coordination of closing tasks among business risks and structural considerations. CCU and the Loan Operations team. This responsibility includes ensuring prompt compliance with all Bank underwriting requirements.
Principal Responsibility No. 2 – Monitoring and Compliance
Performing ongoing analysis of Borrower’s business and financial profile. Key financial metrics and any items that materially impact the Borrower’s risk profile must be tracked in a central. Work with CCU and Loan Operations team to ensure assigned Borrowers remain in compliance. Monitor your assigned Borrowers to ensure appropriateness of Risk Grades. Complete Supervision and Group Reviews on assigned Borrowers. This involves proactive, with terms of credit. Communication with RM and local management to ensure adequate lead time to ensure review. Ensuring the maintenance of credit files (both electronic and physical) in an orderly manner and approval on a timely basis.  Assist with special projects that may arise from time-to-time.
Experience:
Strong writing and communication skills. Independent and motivated, team player. Ability to work effectively with different groups. At minimum, prior 5 years of experience in banking/finance.
Education:
Bachelor Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
