The Senior Credit Auditor supports the Credit Review Manager in the completion of the annual audit plan by planning and conducting credit reviews and credit related audits, reviewing work of other credit review personnel, and conforming to the Internal Audit Charter and Standards.
Essential Duties
Plan, execute, and report on results of assigned credit reviews and audits, including the following:
- Perform and document credit reviews
- Independently assess risk characteristics of the Bank’s loan portfolio through analysis of underwriting decisions and ongoing portfolio management
- Assess risk ratings for loans selected for review to ensure assigned credits maintain their high quality, considering cash flows and other trends
- Analyze the quality of loan portfolios
- Perform and document walkthroughs of key processes, risk and controls for credit related audits
- Prepare complete, clear, and concise audit workpaper documentation that is free of grammatical errors
- Review work of other credit review personnel
- Compile and analyze audit issues identified in the audit
- Prepare audit reports
- Effectively utilize down time, identify issues requiring research, and effectively research using appropriate resources
- Complete all assignments within established timetables to enable the issuance of all audit reports and other deliverables by the applicable deadlines
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with management, learning and understanding the business to better provide value-added services, help management achieve objectives, and enhance customer satisfaction
- As directed by the Credit Review Manager, assist external auditors and regulators in the execution of their audits/ examinations
- Maintain appropriate knowledge of the Bank’s commercial lending products and credit administration policies, procedures and practices
- Perform special projects at the request of the Credit Review Manager
- Maintain a professional development plan to continually develop audit skills

Education and Experience
- BS or BA Degree required, preferred majors in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics or equivalent work experience required
- Five or more years of credit analyst, loan officer, credit review, loan workout or related experience required
- Banking/financial services experience strongly preferred
- Current knowledge of industry lending practices required
- Loan review certification or other related certification encouraged
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Data analysis a plus
Estimated salary range: $97K to $175K plus annual bonus, medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, vacation
